This work is my contributuon to the online exchange project "Juárez_Leipzig", in response to our task "reflect on your surroundings". At the time, I was researching how to fine-tune large language models using personal data, a process that requires the fine-tuner to feed the model with thousands of high-quality and personal data points. Because of the sledgehammer approach that is the current state of machine learning, I was reminded of a junkyard for memories and data.
"memory junkyard" is a generative web sculpture that recalculates its appearance every 3 seconds. Randomly accessed and partially encrypted fragments of personal notes are displayed alongside as subtext.
