Four LCDs installed at night in the Auenwald forest floor, precisely at the location where the photographs displayed on the them were originally taken (51°18'49.9"N 12°21'33.1"E).
Each display has a resolution of 480x320 pixels and a size of 74x49mm. The photos are stored in the flash memory of a Raspberry Pi Pico, which serves as the control unit, rendering the images.
Prior to this work, after spending hours at that place alone at night (W_CCD_1) I learned to move around without breakingf the branches and twigs, leaving the original composition of this chunk of forest intact. It was autumn and the ground was rain-soaked. I deeply felt that the place itself was alive, and adding to that I felt like hunting ghosts with my sensor-modified cameras, taking pictures in complete darkness.
This was when I got reminded of an old belief from the beginnings of photography, which compared photographing a person to "taking a piece of their soul". I decided to bring the photopraphs I took back into the forest, embedding them again into the soil.
